How to reach Kedarnath from Rishikesh

 

Kedarnath is a Hindu pilgrimage site located in the Himalayas of Uttarakhand, India. Rishikesh is a well-connected city in Uttarakhand and serves as a gateway to many popular tourist destinations in the region, including Kedarnath. Here are the ways for how to reach Kedarnath from Rishikesh.



Rishikesh se Kedarnath pahunchne ke liye kai tarike hain. Kedarnath ek dharmik sthal hai jo Uttarakhand ke Himalaya parvat shreniyon mein sthit hai. Yahan kuch pramukh tarike hain jinse aap Rishikesh se Kedarnath pahunch sakte hain:

1.     By Helicopter: One of the fastest ways to reach Kedarnath from Rishikesh is by helicopter. There are daily helicopter services available from Rishikesh to Kedarnath during the Char Dham Yatra season (April to November). The helicopter ride takes around 30 minutes to reach Kedarnath.

2.     By Road: Kedarnath is around 225 kilometers from Rishikesh, and it takes around 8 to 10 hours by road to reach Kedarnath. You can take a shared taxi or a private taxi from Rishikesh to Sonprayag, which is the nearest road head to Kedarnath. From Sonprayag, you have to trek for around 20 kilometers to reach Kedarnath.

3.     By Bus: There are direct buses available from Rishikesh to Gaurikund, the starting point of the trek to Kedarnath. From Gaurikund, you have to trek for around 20 kilometers to reach Kedarnath.

4.     By Train: The nearest railway station to Kedarnath is Rishikesh. From Rishikesh, you can take a shared taxi or a private taxi to reach Sonprayag, and then trek to Kedarnath.

By land from different roads

Kedarnath to Rishikesh distance by road is approximately 225 kilometers. However, there is no direct road connectivity between Kedarnath and Rishikesh. You have to first travel to Sonprayag, which is the nearest road head to Kedarnath, and then trek for around 20 kilometers to reach Kedarnath.

If you are traveling by road from Rishikesh to Kedarnath distance , you can take the NH 7 highway to reach Rudraprayag, then take the NH 109 to reach Guptkashi, and finally take the local road to reach Sonprayag. The entire journey takes around 8 to 10 hours, depending on the traffic and road conditions.

Alternatively, you can take a helicopter from Kedarnath to Phata or Sirsi, and then take a taxi or bus to reach Rishikesh. The helicopter ride takes around 30 minutes, and the taxi or bus journey takes around 4 to 5 hours, depending on the traffic and road conditions.



Overall, thejourney from Kedarnath to Rishikesh can take anywhere between 5 to 10 hours, depending on the mode of transportation you choose.
